Platform Engineer - Fintech - France or Spain - 60K€ to 80 K€

The company

The company is on a mission to help freelancers & SMBs manage their cashflows by helping them get paid faster! They do that by providing an API that platforms such as Malt can integrate seamlessly into their product to offer invoice financing, as well as a powerful administration Dashboard.

Missions :

You'll join their brand-new Platform squad, led by a Staff Engineer acting as Tech Lead.

The mission : provide self-service infrastructure, observability, monitoring, alerting, enable AI, DevEx and product architecture for product squads.

In other words, they treat their product squads as their customers and they want them to ship fast, safely and confidently in a FinTech environment.

What you'll do:

  • Build self-service infrastructure that product squads can use to provision, deploy and operate their services on GCP, Kubernetes and ArgoCD: golden paths, IaC modules, scaffolding. ️

  • Own observability, monitoring and alerting as a product (Grafana dashboards, APM, distributed tracing, error tracking, SLO/SLI frameworks) so squads can debug their own services

  • Make the infrastructure reliable: help design and implement realistic load testing strategies to prevent production bottlenecks before they hit our customers.

  • Enable AI across the org: both AI in our ops workflows (anomaly detection, AI-assisted incident triage, copilots for playbooks) and shared AI capabilities (LLM gateways, RAG plumbing, agent tooling) that product squads plug into.

  • Improve DevEx end-to-end: CI/CD pipelines, local dev loops, preview environments, internal docs, because every minute we save squads compounds.

  • Partner on product architecture with squad tech leads: RFCs, guardrails, architecture refactors, capacity & cost planning.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with PMs, Financial Ops to understand how platform investments translate into product velocity and customer impact.

  • Lead incident response practices: on-call, playbooks, blameless postmortems that translate into real platform improvements.

Requirements

  • Solid experience operating production systems at scale, networking and distributed systems.

  • Platform/product mindset: you treat internal engineers as customers and care about adoption, not just availability

  • Comfortable with Kubernetes, a major cloud provider (ideally GCP) and IaC tooling (Pulumi, Helm, ArgoCD, GitOps…)

  • Hands-on experience designing SLO/SLI frameworks and running observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Sentry, Datadog…)

  • Practical experience leveraging AI/LLMs in an engineering or ops context: AIOps, anomaly detection, log/alert summarization, or building shared AI capabilities for other teams to consume.

  • Can code (Python, Go, TypeScript or similar) well enough to write tooling, automation and small services. Not just glue scripts.

Stack: NodeJS, Typescript, Fastify, Typeorm, OpenAPI RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis Microservices, Kubernetes, GCP, ArgoCD, Grafana, Pulimi, GitOps
